General Comments
My first E2E attempt (N-S) in 2010 ended at Woolbales with an aggravation of an old ankle injury, so the 2019 E2E filled in the bit I missed.
Food/Supplies Comments
Apart from one food drop at North Bannister (thanks again Amanda Gargett), I just bought food and sorted town stop accomodation along the way. The food surprises of the trip were the great little supermarket at Walpole, and the divine Curry Laksa at Ravens Cafe in Denmark.
Favourite Section
My favorite section was from Walpole to Denmark, especially Rame Head shelter.
Highlights
The main highlight was the great people I had the good fortune of walking with (Kylie and Sue who I met on Day 1, Liz from Walpole to Denmark, and Anne and Rob for the last week into Albany). Lots of others along the way too.
Personal Reactions
Somewhere along the Bibbulmun I decided to walk Te Araroa, and I start that 3000 km wander on 28 September 2021.
Wildlife
I didn’t see my first snake till Green Pools (I’m a Kiwi, so the snakes were a highlight)
Your Best Equipment
My Aarn pack is magic, highly recommended
Your Worst Equipment
I’ve done enough tramping.walking now to not have any “worst” gear, it’s all been tossed into the back of the wardrobe.
