I was planning a 2 week trip 11 - 25 Sept with a friend starting from Perth where we hire a car. 3 nights Margaret River area, 4 nights Walpole, 3 nights Albany and 3 nights Fitzgerald River NP and return to Perth 24th. We have accommodation booked - separate bedrooms, self contained. We planned to do day walks at each location and have the BTF maps and day walk books. My friend has an injury and can’t come. I will be in Perth anyway so I’m looking for someone to join me who enjoys walking, flowers and birds and can take over her accommodation costs and car hire. I can supply more details. I’ll be in Perth from 27 - 30 August before flying to Christmas Island for a trip. I’m female, 74, reasonably fit and love the bush, done a lot of walking and overnighting in the past - a bit slower now! If you would like to discuss please email while on Christmas Island and afterwards please call me.

  • For Sale: Tyvek tent groundsheet

    • Telephone (Steve) or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Tyvek is widely used as a groundsheet for protecting the bottom of your tent. It is breathable, waterproof but very tough.

It is made from high density polyethylene fibres and has a similar feel to paper with a high strength to weight ratio. See www.bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=23794&mobile=on for a discussion on the difference.

Sold per metre (by the whole metre) off a 2.7m wide roll.
    61g per square metre, white.
$20 per metre for BTF members.
    $25 per metre for non-members.

Technical data sheet available at https://insulation.com.au/data-sheet-download?pid=4459.

This style (homewrap) is more waterproof, more durable and therefore longer lasting than the 1443r style of Tyvek (which is more suited to waterproof stuff sacks).

Please note that the Tyvek is not held at or sold through the Bibbulmun Track Foundation office.
