I had terrible food habits , I ended the last few days eating a couple of chocolate bars a day . Tip dried shallots , bring flavour to everything.

The amazing people I met , get caught in a storm alone watching the iron roof flex and praying I would make it through the night lol. Reaching the end , walking alone . Loosing 14kilo

Your Best Equipment
Mittens that you could fold back the top to use fingers when making morning coffee , if your winter hiking take gloves, you will thank me. Ultra trail runners , zero problems with my feet . $3 head torch from Kmart .
Your Worst Equipment
Phone charger , it was heavy.
Advice for Others
Lots of people fear waking alone , sure there were some scary nights alone in the tent but I had to think there can’t be a serial killer at every Hutt so I got over it , haha. Don’t overthink starting out . I decided two weeks before going , scrambled some gear together booked flights and just did it .
