General Comments
We appreciated the amount of voluntary effort devoted to maintaining the track and shelters. We found the track well signed with waugals but not always on the rock faces and some road crossings. Good comradeship along the way, we met interesting fellow walkers.
Food/Supplies Comments
We organised food drops from Brookton Highway to Denmark. All arrived safely and were collected. North Bannister is very useful. Visitors centers and shops now selling good selection of gas and freeze dried foods.
Favourite Section
The Karri-tingle forest.
Highlights
Early morning in the forest, the wildflowers - varieties. The monadnocks for the views, the wild and waves lashes southern coast.
Personal Reactions
A sense of achievement. Good to be away from the media as appreciation of our rich natural heritage. But shocked at the devastation cased by die-back.
Wildlife
Best sighting - a Rakali up close examining my feet by the canoe station on the Irwin Inlet. saw kangaroos, wallabies, emus and feral pigs! Disappointed not to see a bandicoot, echidnas,
Your Best Equipment
The Minimo Jey Boil - economical in usage and fast! (gas stove)
Your Worst Equipment
Camelbak hydration bladder - more trouble than they’re worth.
Advice for Others
Slow down and smell the coffee (well maybe the eucalyptus and wildflowers) Treat it as a race to the end and you will miss so much.
