General Comments

Fantastic walk with the weather being really kind to me. I had only 6 days of rain and one of those was a rest day in Pemberton.
I was also lucky enough to have met a number of wonderful people on my journey. Two of theses were Janelle from NSW and Barbara from Germany.
Originally I was going to walk the E2E with my walking mate Murray but due to an injury he couldn’t make the whole walk. He did however walk out from Collie to Yabberup and half way to Harris dam. This completed his sectional E2E. It also gave him the opportunity to make sure his injury was right. He then joined me for the last section from Dwellingup to the Northern Terminus.

Food/Supplies Comments

Dehydrated all of my own supplies and had them dropped in each town.

Favourite Section

Pemberton to Donnelly River Village. Great scenery and challenging. Then you walk into DRV and have a wonderful cup of coffee plus lasagna and salad.

Highlights

Having Janelle and Barbara come and meet Murray and I at the Northern Terminus.

Personal Reactions

I completed my first E2E from North to South in 2003. At that time I found it physically easy but psychologically challenging. This time it was the reverse, physically challenging and psychologically easy.

Wildlife

I was lucky enough to see a lot of wild life during the walk. I did notice that this time I saw a large number of forest cockatoos. A good sign that their numbers are increasing.

Your Best Equipment

My ultra light down jacket. Some of the nights and mornings were very cold.

Your Worst Equipment

My wrist watch band. It was so cold at Gardner campsite that it froze and broke when I went to put it on. From then on I had a pocket watch instead of a wrist watch.

Advice for Others

Enjoy the experience. If you get to a campsite and aren’t enjoying it stop and have a rest. Walking the Bibbulmun is great for the sole so enjoy the experience.
