General Comments

I hiked the Bibbulmun Track to train for my Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) thru hike. It was also a great chance to explore Western Australia! I am very pleased with my choice to hike the Bibb in WA - especially in the cooler autumn weather. It really was an experience of a lifetime.

Food/Supplies Comments

All the track towns I had no problem resupplying from ; however the Roadhouse near Dwellingup was under renovation and had no hot meals. (Gringer Creek)

Favourite Section

Denmark to Walpole.

Highlights

Coastal vistas, giant Tingle trees, Donnelly River Village, Gloucester tree, Dwellingup History Museum.

Personal Reactions

The trail was incredible and a great hike for a fist-timer like myself. If I could do it again, I’d probably go north to south.

Wildlife

Near Nullaki coming into Denmark I saw more tiger snakes than I could count. The last tiger snake I saw was near the halfway point before DRV.

Your Best Equipment

Guthooks App (Bibbulmun Track) made navigation so easy!

Your Worst Equipment

MSR titanium pot (bulky, clangy, hard to clean).

Advice for Others

Allow extra time at the beginning and end of hike to enjoy Albany and Perth.
