General Comments

First long walk I have done in Australia and I really appreciated Rob’s company

Food/Supplies Comments

Rob’s wife Beryl did food drops at enach town and on the occasions when we met her she had some great goodies to eat in the car. The Town were good for adding treats like chocolate and cheese to our diet.

Favourite Section

Obviously the scenery along the coast is great and I enjoyed the Pingerup Plains. I also like the section from Mt Cooke to Monadnocks over Mt Vincent and Mt Cuthbert.

Highlights

Probably reaching a town to have a shiwer, shave, laundered clothes, sift bed and a pub meal before moving on.

Personal Reactions

I could not believe that we would walk for so many days just through forest.

Wildlife

Didn’t see too much…few kangaroos and emus, one wild pig and a few snakes along the coast. Also not too much birdlife.

Your Best Equipment

I purchased a deuter rucksack which was very good.

Your Worst Equipment

I should have bought a better sleeping bag as mine was not good enough for the cold nights and the zip broke.

Advice for Others

Get fit as possible and take a short trek to test your equipment before attempting the big one.
