General Comments
This walk was HEAPS better than we expected! The shelters were amazing - so well set up & so easy to share with others. I’m amazed at how much work has gone into the whole thing. I’m also thrilled at how I handled it, never having done a long walk before.
Food/Supplies Comments
We did 10 food drops by car before we began walking & were thrilled with the way that worked. We purchased very little ‘track’ food along the way.
Favourite Section
Balingup to Northcliffe.
Highlights
I was amazed at how we became part of a ‘family’ of walkers on the Track! We knew people before we met them & vice versa! The red and green books are such an important part of the walk.
Personal Reactions
It was great to meet so many others - the people doing the Track add so much to the experience. We only had 6 nights alone in 8 weeks.
Wildlife
Wildflowers were above expectation! Black cockatoos were spectacular, snakes not at all threatening, fantastic to see a quenda!
Your Best Equipment
We were really happy with all our equipment. I especially liked my lightweight camping pillowcase. Each night I put all ‘tomorrow’s’ clothes in it and not only had a good pillow, but warm clothes to put on in the morning!
Your Worst Equipment
Nil!
Advice for Others
Plan, plan and plan and then you’ll have maximum enjoyment on the Track. Also, if you are doing the section involving Little Quarrum Beach N-S get good instructions on how to find your way OFF it, before you get on it!!
