General Comments

It took 10 years, but finally walked the whole track. It was a fabulous experience - from the planning and purchasing, through the trials and joys of walking and camping, to the eventual triumph and elation of walking the last section. How lucky we are to have this wonderful walk so accessible, and so well maintained, by volunteers. Without exception, the Bib Track community was friendly, positive and supportive - everyone doing it slightly differently, but everyone doing it well.

Favourite Section

Donnelly River to Pemberton - even walking through the tail end of a cyclone! Such beautiful forest.

Personal Reactions

The Bib Track is so well maintained and managed, without being manicured, that relatively inexperienced and ‘weekend’ hikers like myself can get into, and enjoy being in, a natural environment. The lack of human noise and structure, the sounds of only the leaves or the birds, often just the silence, made the walks a rejuvenating exercise, despite the effort required for a ‘weekend’ hiker.

Your Best Equipment

I LOVE my ZPacks sleeping quilt. It’s light, warm and and cosy. Well worth the $.
My walking poles - saved me from falls a number of times.

Your Worst Equipment

A rain poncho - blows around like crazy in the wind, and catches on the bushes.
