General Comments

An unforgetable walk through some of the most spectacular and isolated parts of the state’s south west.
A huge thank you to the vast numbers of volunteers, and Parks and Wildlife staff that maintaining the track, bridges, and shelters.

Food/Supplies Comments

Very easy to re-supply in larger towns including Dwellingup, Pemberton, Collie, Walpole, Denmark, but more difficult to get light weight nutritious foods in some of the smaller towns.

Favourite Section

Really loved the wild coastline with dunes in full bloom from Peaceful Bay to Albany.

Highlights

Stunning views from the many granite peaks, the wonderful flora of Pingerup plains wetlands, karri forests in full bloom.

Personal Reactions

The social side of the walk was somethings we hadn’t really considered before we started out, but the interesting people we walked with for a day, week or an month really enhanced the experience.

Wildlife

Many emus!

Your Best Equipment

My thermorest air mattress stayed inflated all night every night while many others in the shelters didn’t! My Osprey backpack was lightweight, very well designed, and comfortable.

Your Worst Equipment

Two different raincoats that failed and left me soaked through!

Advice for Others

If using a phone for photos, a power bank large enough to maintain charge for up to 10 days is very useful!
