General Comments
I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to walk the track. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the volunteers who support and maintain such and incredible asset.
Food/Supplies Comments
I dehydrated my own meals and sent them to Visitor Centres along the way. Trail towns generally had good supplies too.
Favourite Section
I loved the whole trail, so much diversity in the landscape.
Highlights
I met so many fantastic people on the trail, shared lots of stories and laughs. The wildflowers in spring are just amazing including orchids of all shapes and sizes.
Wildlife
The birdlife was fantastic - my favourites were southern emu wrens, western spinebills, Carnaby and Baudins black cockatoos and so many more! Kangaroos, emus, bobtail lizards, and lots of snakes.
Your Best Equipment
My Aarn backpack, Durston XMid Pro IP tent, Neve quilt and my trekking poles.
Your Worst Equipment
A poncho was totally useless in high winds on the beach - not surprising (it was great otherwise).
Advice for Others
If you feel drawn to walk the track then get out walking! Short sections, long sections - it doesn’t matter. Work with the time you have and within your limits.
