Highlights

Meeting Tina.

Southern Ocean fronts, enormous winds, being blown around like a drunken woman .crashing waves, inundated beaches, uncrossable inlets, sideways rain, hail, thunder and lightening and a cosy huts at days end that didn’t quiver at all in the ferocious weather.

So many others, too many to mention.

The Darling Range - the Mt’s the views & lovely varied terrain.

The Pingerup Plains - lovely peaceful relaxing walking. Not wet at all.

The coastal section stunning all the way, raw and wild.
Badger Rd, gorgeous down there.
Tingle tree forest.

Personal Reactions

Unforgettable life experience.

Wildlife

Close up beautiful birds eye view of humpback whale at Irwin point just heading into Peaceful Bay. Encounter about 30 mins, He was flipping, flopping, slapping, breaching and had a roar that vibrated through my bones. Transfixed in the moment.
Cockatoos - Iooking up through their tail feathers highlighted by the sun. Stunning.
Emus in the forest - usually running away at speed of light.
Kangaroos - sometimes curious and observant and sometimes scattering in a scared surprised hurry.
Some Red Fairy Wrens, other littlies so delightful.
One tiger snake on last day!

Your Best Equipment

Sleeping gear - minus 5 down sleeping bag, air mattress & trek mat underneath. Air pillow.

Your Worst Equipment

Solar charger - hardly saw the sun! If not in deep forest it was too overcast and they just aren’t practical really!

Advice for Others

Take a tent you will need it and might come to enjoy the alternative to huts.
It will be colder than you anticipate.
Navigation - have a way of knowing where you are when you need to. You will go wrong way sometimes, perhaps more than once.
