General Comments

This was one of the biggest challenges I’ve set myself, and it was amazing! I loved being alone on the trail for 42 days. The silence and beauty was perfect. Walking the Bibb will always be one of my favourite memories.

Food/Supplies Comments

I sent food parcels from Sydney to post offices along the Bibbulmun Track at Peaceful Bay, Walpole, Northcliffe, Collie and Dwellingup. I was also delivered a parcel in-person at Balingup. My first two parcels (at Peaceful Bay and Walpole) didn’t turn up in time so I had to make do with food from the stores and gifts from fellow hikers. Lesson learned - send food early!

Favourite Section

My favourite part of the walk was the southern coastline from Walpole to Denmark. I was very lucky, it hardly rained!

Highlights

Sunset from a boulder above Torbay campsite, sunrise over Peaceful Bay, three days alone from Long Point to Dog Pool, Warren Campsite,

Wildlife

Snakes, spiders, wallabies, mosquitos, emus, mice, and so many beautiful birds.

Your Best Equipment

My warm sleeping back (Sea to Summit Flame III) and VERY comfortable boots (Merrell), which were a size up from my usual. My 360 degrees Furno stove never let me down. It was my first time walking with poles, and they turned out to be crucial.

Your Worst Equipment

Water bladder, which I didn’t use once.

Advice for Others

Sleep outside the shelters in a tent if you can. You won’t be disturbed by others, and it lessens the chances of mice munching through your gear.
