General Comments

A fantastic and well maintained trail.  Huts with water and toilets and most had good tent sites.  Well done to all the volunteers who maintain this track for all to enjoy.

Food/Supplies Comments

No problems resupplying in each town for the next section.  Fresh fruit is always nice for the first few days back on the track.

Favourite Section

No particular favourite as all had something special.  I struggled through the sand dunes at the start but loved the ocean views.  Tingle and Karri trees and rolling hills to granite top mountains with great views.  The track has something special for everyone.

Highlights

Whales and dolphins at play on the coast to great mountain views.

Meeting and chatting to other hikers along the way.  I also made some great friendships at Peaceful Bay and Rames Head.  These friends kept in touch and even met up a few times along the track.  Jack came out to Hewitt’s hut for the night to walk the last section and Cam ran in from Kalamunda and they both walked the last section with me.

Personal Reactions

Enjoying the moment I came across the finish line at Kalamuda.

Wildlife

Roos, emus, wild pigs, black cockatoos and wild pigs.  Dolphins and a whale along the coastline.

Your Best Equipment

Walking poles, Alton mat, Jetboil stash stove, sea to summit liner and my zero degrees Mountain designs sleeping bag.

Your Worst Equipment

A 3.3kg pack!  (problem solved now)
