General Comments
Congratulations to all involved in the design and maintenance of this world class track. The website is a great help for walk planning and general information.
Food/Supplies Comments
We posted food parcels (cheaper to send in satchels available from post office) to Visitors Info Centres, but plenty of supplies available along the way. Walkers well catered for in all track towns. Dehydrated food and gas available at all Visitors Centres.
Favourite Section
Pingerup Plains
Highlights
Meeting other interesting walkers on the track. Friendliness of locals in the track towns along the way. Special mention to Danielle of Balingup for her warmth and kindness, and the generosity of the Trail Hub Cafe (Camel Farm) on our final day.
Personal Reactions
Had a very solitary thru hike of the Bibb 10 years ago. Was surprised and pleased to discover how popular it has become.
Wildlife
Fortunate to witness 2 dugites mating. Loved the amazing variety of birdlife.
Your Best Equipment
Western Mountaineering sleeping bag and Altra Lone Peak trail runners.
Your Worst Equipment
Thermarest Uberlite sleeping mat which was very comfortable, but died a slow death (was replaced by Thermarest).
Advice for Others
Travel as light as possible. Everything you leave out will make your walk easier and thus more enjoyable. Don’t over-cater and don’t obsess over food supplies. There’s a town every few days.
