General Comments
Glad to have done this walk. I’m inspired to take on greater challenges.
Food/Supplies Comments
Didn’t use any drops and was able to supply myself with metho, oats, instant coffee, wraps, cheese, salami, Back Country in track towns with only minor deviations from the plan.
Favourite Section
Walpole to Denmark, the section I had already done and which brought me back. Having said that, I did have a real soft spot for the Wandoo trees further north.
Highlights
Balingup to Blackwood was a great day for multiple reasons. Arriving at Mandalay Beach and getting in the sea.
Wildlife
Grey Fantails put in the most effort and deserve top billing. All cockatoos are legends. White-browed Babblers always gave my mood a huge lift. Felt I really bonded with some sodden kangaroos on the wet days.
Your Best Equipment
My Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottle that I used to both carry and boil water. Icebreaker underpants worth every cent.
Your Worst Equipment
The only thing I sent home was my torch, but it was not to blame. Left it on turbo in my pack and had overestimated how common its battery was. First one I saw was in Albany. Everything else stayed the course and was therefore fine.
