General Comments

The facilities are wonderful. The water tanks remove the burden of worrying about where your next drink is coming from and the shelters are always a welcome sight.

Food/Supplies Comments

For the most part we purchased our supplies in the Track Towns, although we did get friends to deliver our supplies and a barbecue lunch including beer at Mt Dale. We never had any difficulty finding what we needed in Towns.

Favourite Section

It’s hard to pick a favourite. I’ll admit to being biased towards the South Coast and Giants though as I spent much of my childhood in that area.

Highlights

Always the sunrise. And ALL the little things. (The Albany pitcher plants stick in my mind.)

Personal Reactions

I’ve never felt more alive than when I’m walking on the track.

Wildlife

Loved the birds (especially the wrens and owls and Red Eared Firetails), kangaroos, dolphins, bandicoots, possums and yes, the snakes.

Your Best Equipment

Lightweight gas stove. Our little stove was really given a workout. Most days we had a hot breakfast and coffee for two, followed by morning tea/coffee, a hot lunch, afternoon tea/coffee, a hot coffee/soup at the shelter…Then a hot dinner followed by hot milo.
Even so the canisters lasted about a week and the stove lasted the entire walk.
(The stove died on a later walk. RIP We miss you.)

Your Worst Equipment

I’m lucky. I never had a problem with any of my gear.

Advice for Others

Take your time. It’s not a race. If you take the time to look around you will see something wonderful.
