General Comments

An incredible personal journey through an amazing landscape - challenging and rewarding. My first real hike and by myself. A life changing experience: I was totally impressed! What an amazing way to experience WA! I will always have an affinity with the Bibbulmun!!

Food/Supplies Comments

I packed and forwarded boxes of food to myself, however the townships had plenty of supplies if needed.

Favourite Section

How to choose? Sunrise at Schafer, Maringup, Rame Head, Blackwood, Mt Cooke, White Horse Hills, Hidden Valley, etc!!

Highlights

The Track and facilities at each campsite were fantastic! I put my life in the hands of the Track Volunteers and wasn’t let down! The Track is a hidden gem that the rest of Australia/World don’t know much about!

Personal Reactions

As before - a life changing experience. I was both scared and exhilarated for most of the trip. I will always draw upon the inner strength I developed on that hike: In times of stress/anxiety/despair I think back to my time on the Bibbulmun and reach within for that strength. Nothing phases me now like it would sometimes before I went on the Bibbulmun!
I also raised $14 400 for the ‘Cure for life’foundation for brain cancer research after my friend died before I started my hike!!!!

Wildlife

Very little at first, very dry and warm from Kalamunda but increased the further south I went - bird-life along the river system amazing! A few snakes!

Your Best Equipment

My Track books! Without them I’d been lost!

Your Worst Equipment

My sleeping mat - 3/4 length. Never again.

Advice for Others

Just do it! I never wanted to stop at Albany. Wanted to turn around and keep walking South to North! I’ll be back!
