General Comments

To have such a wonderful world class walking track in our backyard is a credit to all those past and present who have been and are involved in the development, realignment & maintenanence.  The shelters, water supply & drop loos make the track do-able.

Food/Supplies Comments

Prepared and dehydrated wholesome & tasty meals, to which I added pasta, rice or couscous.  Had boxes dropped off at accommodation along the way.  Tried to carry 4 to 5 days food at a time.

Favourite Section

The southern coast - Walpole to Albany

Highlights

Walking in my father’s boots, their second End to end, 18 years later.  Family & friends foined me to walk the track or share rest days in towns.  Interesting people from all over the world enjoying the experience of walking the track.  Counting native orchids.

Personal Reactions

What a joy to be able to walk almost 1000kms in our country by oneself with the comforts the track offers.

Wildlife

Surprised at the small numbers of emus and roos seen.  Snakes, a few, plenty of beautiful native orchids and other wildflowers in full bloom.

Your Best Equipment
