Waste Not, Want Not

In July, Support Volunteers revisited childhood memories of Meccano sets as they spent three days near Harvey-Quindanning Road dismantling two kit-bridges from an old alignment of the Track. A big thank you to the Wellington District Staff who provided invaluable support to our Maintenance volunteers.

Demonstrating their trademark tenacity and commitment, the volunteers managed to complete two days’ worth of work in a single, long day. They then devoted an additional day to maintaining the new section of the Track, which was opened earlier this year just north of Harvey-Quindanning Road.

Looking ahead, one of the dismantled bridges will be reinstalled across a small creek south of Collie-Preston Road in late October, with the skilled Support Volunteer team leading the effort.

Well done to the team for their hard work and ongoing dedication to preserving and enhancing the Track!
