Honorary Life Members

The title Honorary Life Member is arguably the highest award which can be bestowed by an organisation.

It is recognition of an unselfish and continuous contribution over a long period of time made to the Bibbulmun Track Foundation (BTF) by a person and is a measure of the level of recognition and respect for the person by his/her peers.

Nominations from our members are welcome.  See the criteria and nomination form below.

We are pleased to recognise the following Honorary Life Members – for information about their contribution click on their name.

Criteria

The measures which need to be used to judge that service include, but are not limited to, or require, all of the following:

  1. Selfless personal service, to the BTF and its objectives, and the Track, including its maintenance and promotion.
  2. Upholding and promoting the values of the BTF, particularly recognising its mission and objectives,
  3. Raising public awareness of the BTF and its objects (without necessarily the public profile of the person).

 Process

  1. Any person can nominate a person for the award.
  2. It shall be referred to an awards committee appointed for that purpose.
  3. Such committee shall comprise at least the Chair of the BTF, and another board member, the executive officer, a person who is a member of the BTF but who does not hold any executive or appointed position, and possibly the Patron (if there is one).
  4. They shall provide a written statement of support, setting out the basis on which the award is recommended.
  5. The statement is presented to the Board for consideration and approval or rejection.
  6. A framed certificate is presented at an appropriate time (e.g. AGM meeting)
  7. The Award is acknowledged in the Bibbulmun News Magazine and AGM report.

Applications must be completed on the Honorary Life Membership nomination form.

NOTE:  Any nomination should remain confidential between the promoter and the BTF awards committee. It is important that this is so, to avoid embarrassment, either for the nominee or the BTF in case the decision is not to award.
