Voices from the Track: Rémi Pradelle — “Do Your Own Hike”

We’re excited to launch Voices from the Track, a new series celebrating the people who make the Bibbulmun Track come alive.

Each month, we’ll share stories from walkers who’ve taken on the Track — from end-to-enders to section hikers — highlighting their challenges, triumphs, favourite spots, and top tips.

Our first feature is Rémi Pradelle, who recently completed his end-to-end in just 32 days. Read on for his story …

Rémi Pradelle was inspired to walk the Bibbulmun Track by the idea of an Australian long-distance trail with a strong hiking community — something reminiscent of America’s Appalachian Trail.

Rémi completed his end-to-end in just 32 days, from 5 September to 6 October 2025. Along the way, he faced rain, steep climbs, soggy feet, and long stretches of soft sand — but nothing dampened his spirits.

His highlight?
“When I saw the ocean for the first time.”

While he loved most of the journey, he admits the long walk on the bike path into Albany was the one part he didn’t miss!

Rémi keeps his pack light — never more than 10kg — and recommends a warm sleeping bag, good rain jacket, solid waterproofing system (“bin bags work!”), and thong sandals (his came from Collie!).

His advice for future walkers:
“Do your own hike. The Bibb is perfect for walking the way you want, and changing plans is easy.”

Have you recently completed your own end-to-end?

Register your walk with the Bibbulmun Track Foundation to be featured in our End-to-Enders Gallery — and share your story in Voices from the Track!

The Bibbulmun Track meets the ocean — where every step comes with the sound of the waves.
