Community Safety Notice

We have received reports of thefts from a hiker at campsites along the Bibbulmun Track, including reported incidents at White Horse Hills Campsite on 26 September and Gringer Creek Campsite on 28 September.

Reported stolen items have included trekking poles, a cooking system and food supplies. These reports have been passed on to police.

We encourage anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, or who has information that may assist, to contact WA Police or Crime Stoppers directly at www.crimestopperswa.com.au/report or via phone at 131 444.

As a reminder to all walkers:

• Keep valuable items secure.
• Be mindful of leaving gear unattended.
• Report any suspicious behaviour to police.
• If you believe you have been the victim of a theft, contact police and obtain an incident report number.

The Bibbulmun Track community is overwhelmingly positive, supportive and respectful. While incidents such as these are disappointing, they remain the exception rather than the rule.
