A Massive Effort to Support the Bibbulmun Track

In early March, ten of our incredible Support Volunteers rolled up their sleeves at DBCA’s Chugg Street yard for one of the biggest logistics efforts of the year.

They prepared and bagged more than 7,000 kg of materials and equipment—all destined for helicopter delivery to 13 remote stockpiles along the Bibbulmun Track between Mandalay Beach and Long Point.

The loads will be used by groups of volunteers in three week-long campaigns later in the year, to address erosion and install stabilisation controls to keep the Track safe, sustainable, and walkable for those walking this section of the Bibbulmun Track. 

It’s a huge job, and it simply wouldn’t happen without the dedication, muscle, and good humour of our volunteer team, plus the support and assistance of DBCA’s Frankland District staff. Their contribution keeps the spirit of the Bibbulmun Track alive.

The project is also supported by the Western Australian Government’s State Natural Resource Management Program.
