2025 Bibbulmun Track Virtual Hike Challenge Wrap-Up & Winners

Over eight weeks—from June 1 to July 27, 2025—189 walkers across 92 teams virtually traversed the 1,000 km Bibbulmun Track, journeying from Kalamunda to Albany via the Pacer app. Along the way, participants unlocked 20 beautifully curated virtual milestones, showcasing huts, track towns, and scenic highlights complete with images and descriptions to bring the real Track to life.

Beyond fitness and fun, the challenge also served as a fundraising effort. Participants were encouraged to raise funds to support track maintenance, volunteer programs, and conservation, with suggestions that even $10 per person could help cover event costs and further support the Track.

What Made This Challenge Special

  • Accessible & inclusive: Whether walking around the neighbourhood, through Canberra frost, or during Sydney’s Vivid festival, participants connected with nature and each other no matter where they were.
  • Milestone motivation: The virtual milestones brought the Track’s beauty into daily steps, inspiring walkers to keep moving through forests, ridges, and coastal vistas.
  • Fundraising impact: Thanks to everyone who contributed, the Virtual Hike not only logged steps, but also helped support track maintenance, conservation efforts, and volunteer-run programs.
