Track Towns and Supplies
- How many days did you stay in Track Towns? 4
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? No
- The quality of the food-resupplies is unfortunately limited. I am not a big fan of re-supply boxes and try to buy local as much as possible, but with the options available in most trail towns, it makes it difficult to eat healthy on trail. If I walked again, I would send some boxes.

Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsI absolutely loved my hike. I have never walked a trail with better infrastructure and maintenance.
Your Best Equipment
My puffer jacket. Brrr.
Your Worst Equipment
My tent unfortunately. While it is a great piece of gear and I love it, it was a horrendous task to pack my tent in those freezing mornings because the dirt of the tent patches around the huts kept sticking to the material and made packing it with numb fingers a torture.
Advice for Others
Don't underestimate the temperature! While I knew it could get nippy in May, I had underestimated how much so. I had some freezing and thus restless nights on the trail. I also wish I had known about the fishing line hanging trick for the huts to keep it safe from rats and mice.

Your Experience
- Availability of information: Good - It would have been nice to have more information about the re-supply options along the trail. Some trails have inventory lists for smaller towns so you roughly know what you can get there. It would also be great if every town had an official hiker box (e.g. at the visitor centers) for hiker to leave or pick up access food/gear etc.
- Amount of Wildlife Encountered: Good - A perfect double rainbow.
Denmark – Walpole
