Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsIt was a great physical and mental challenge. I enjoyed the feeling of adventure and the disconnect from the daily home routine. It was great seeing the scenery and meeting so many interesting people along the way.
Your Best Equipment
Probably my snack bag of fruit leathers, sultanas, nuts, choc bars, salami, cheese, crackers.
Your Worst Equipment
Nothing really stands out. Being a novice I spent a bit of time researching and choosing equipment without breaking the bank. Everything was adequate but could be dialled in a bit more.
Advice for Others
The food in towns is a great motivator and reward. The Wine and Tapas bar in Pemberton. Fish and Chips and breakfast at Peaceful Bay. The petrol station at Walpole. A brewery in Denmark. Could not believe there was a sushi van at Greens Pool.

Loved the coastal sections. Also really enjoyed the landscape and isolation around Yourdamung and the Pingerup plains.

So many - thunderstorm with lightning around Abyssinia Rock, storms rolling in coming down Mount Cooke. Not seeing anyone for 2.5 days. Several solo nights, White Horse Hills stands out. The sunrise, sunset and moon over the valley at Blackwood. The beach sections. The friendly camp volunteer at Parry Beach that surprised me with a coffee from her campervan espresso machine.
