Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsMy End-to End took seven years to finish as family and work commitments needed to come first, but I always knew I would get there in the end. Hearing other people describe their end-to-ends was the inspiration I needed to know that I could do it too.
Your Best Equipment
My camera. So many photos and each one has a memory to go with it.
Your Worst Equipment
None really. One of the advantages of doing it in sections is that any under-performing gear can be replaced before the next hike.
Advice for Others
It can be daunting at first, especially at night or if you are doing it solo. You soon get used to being out there, though, and you really start to feel at home in the bush.

Your Experience
- Availability of information: Excellent
- Amount of Wildlife Encountered: Excellent - I had special wildlife encounters just about every time I was out on the track. The ones that really stuck in my mind were a family of five emus feeding near Tom Road and a pair of echidnas getting friendly with each other near Waalegh. Best of all was an osprey diving into the water at Torbay Inlet trying to catch a fish- a real David Attenborough moment!
Northcliffe to Walpole in June. Seeing the big storm clouds approach over the Pingerup Plains and the coast was spectacular. I also need to show some love to the Dwellingup area as my maintenance section is down that way.
Highlight of your trip
Mandalay Beach. Reaching the ocean for the first time was amazing enough, but to do it when the wind was blowing a gale and the surf was up was exhilarating.
