Track Towns and Supplies
- How many days did you stay in Track Towns? 29
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- As we were weekend warriors we stayed in accommodation and brought most of our food with us. One person did all the organising of food and accommodation that way we did not have duplications.

Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsMy walking companion was a life long friend which was special but we do understand each other very well. This was very helpful at times. We really enjoyed our walk and our last day on the Bib Track was a sunny spring day on Mount Cooke with abundant wild flowers everywhere. A perfect finishing point.
Your Best Equipment
Women’s Osprey packs (day pack and 50l for overnight Merrill Moab Boots Injini toe liner socks and merino outer sock(only way for me to prevent blisters Emergency Sleeping bag Sea to summit women’s sleeping back and matress
Your Worst Equipment
Tent. As we are older ladies we needed to minimize the pack weight. We did not want to spend a fortune as we knew we were only going to use it a few times. It was not free standing and at just over 1kg it was too heavy. We started leaving it behind but always carried our emergency sleeping bag which meant if we had to we could stay uncomfortably out of a hut.
Advice for Others
Get good quality gear as it is Warmer, more comfortable and lasts.

Your Experience
- Availability of information: Fair - Distances on web site were often inaccurate Track diversions are listed by area and roads. Walkers linear of area names is not the same as you use. A map (similar to what is on track) would be of much more use to walkers
- Amount of Wildlife Encountered: Fair - Phascogale (unfortunately deceased) A large kangaroo enjoying a deep sleep on the track in the warm sunshine. We all stood and looked at each other bewildered. The kangaroo eventually sprang into high bushes.
