Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsThe track is a credit to WA. Thank you to all those who care for it.
Your Best Equipment
Gossamer gear torso foam pad. Which was great to sit on and gave a little more warmth/protection under my sleeping mat. Also good back up if I got a puncture on air mattress. Also my old aluminium 10cm high. which I cooked with and ate out of. Rain pants which I wore over my thermals as my camp pants. Rain poncho which I also used as my tarp.
Your Worst Equipment
My light blue puffer jacket. Whilst the jacket was fabulous the colour was a disaster it look so disgusting by the end of the trip, same as my beige stretchers which I used as camp foot wear. Whilst they were nice a light and not bulky like crocs got wet and also filthy.
Advice for Others
To pack as light as you can. Be prepared to discard things as you go. Start slowly. It’s so tempting to try and get as many kms out of the way as fast you can but that’s the risky time for injuries and blisters. There is plenty of time to do the big km days when you get your track fitness.
