Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsI connected to the landscape, its long resonance with Noongar people. I danced at every opportunity, as important to me as food and water breaks. To leap and twist reminded me that I'm more than a packhorse.
Your Best Equipment
Silk shopping bag - held my wet tent tied on top of pack, ferried things between tent and hut, and good for shopping too
Your Worst Equipment
Shoes. I suffered foot pain through boots, then running shoes (Hoka) till I changed to Crocs. Last 250km in Crocs no foot pain.
Advice for Others
Every gram you dont carry makes for a lighter step. Shed everything you don't need. Be ruthless about excess weight. I shed my stove early on and cold-soaked my food. Allow time for rest.

Walpole to Denmark for the giant trees. But overall loved the variety, no two days the same
Highlight of your trip
My connection with trees. I'd been musing on the electromagnetic field of the heart, and playing with holding my heart against big trees. I had just done this, was filled with calm and contentment, stepped away from the tree, and my mind flooded with snake thoughts. Not fear, just snake alert. Round the bend, about 10m, and here's a large Tiger Snake. The Bibbulman taught me this level of connection and presence.
