Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- As a vegetarian I chose to organise food boxes and had them posted to my accommodation at each town, they are all very happy to assist. Thanks mum!
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsFANTASTIC, life changing both physically, mentally and spiritually.
Your Best Equipment
- Scarpa boots - Osprey Aether 70 backpack - Fizan walking poles
Your Worst Equipment
I had a great synthetic sleeping bag but it was too bulky and slightly not warm enough. A minus 5 comfort rating is required without an inner liner or thermals.
Advice for Others
- Hike your own hike - Hiking the track is as easy as it is complex, simply enjoy every single part of it - Before you start be prepared practically (gear), physically (do your best haha) and mentally (listen to others who know more than you do) - Walking the Bibb is 90% mental 10% physical - Lastly if you think you can't complete an end to end in one go, you are WRONG, if you want to do it, do it!!!
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
I've been asked this several times and I really don't have one, each section has its own special characteristics. Some sections may have less spectacular views but bring you the opportunity to conquer hills which is very rewarding watching yourself become so fit both mentally and physically.
Highlight of your trip
- The people I met along the way on the track and in the towns - The wild life - I loved my campfires - The dramatic change in the environment between sections - Reaching the campsite at the end of the day - Nature, nature, nature in all its glory and fury
