Track Towns and Supplies

• How many days did you stay in Track Towns? 5
• Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? No
• I was surprised that Dwellingup didn't have a chemist, so this might be something worth publishing, unless you already have and I missed this. Peaceful Bay was all closed down, but luckily we knew this going into the walk, so sent plenty of supplies for an overnight at the Peaceful Bay Chalets. The property manager picked up our boxed from the post office and had them ready for us when we arrived.

Your Story or Advice for Others

Your Best Equipment
I had a little rechargeable lightweight pump (35g) for my sleeping mat, that was invaluable. I didn't have to use the bag or inflate by hand for the nights in huts.

Your Worst Equipment
My rain jacket that started absorbing water, and not repelling it. I had to send it home and get a new one on trail.

Advice for Others
Really look at what is in your gear that you don't need. I had extra tent pegs, ropes and items on my backpack that I just didn't need, and sent home. I also sent home little parcels at each track town of items/maps that I no longer required.

Your Experience

• Availability of information: Great - Most questions were answered through looking through the website. Others I found on the BTF Facebook page, or on the related Facebook hiker groups.
• Amount of Wildlife Encountered: Good - As we started NOBO in the end of July, for the entirety of the southern section along the coast, we spotted whales every day - both Southern Right and Humpback. Loved 'Patrick' the Quenda at Torbay, a few cute little native Australian bush rats or mardos at Warren and Schafer, spotted a lovely Shingleback in the Southern section and spotted a few dad Emus with their chicks on the trail. Loved all of the birds as well. Missed getting to see an echidna, but you can't see everything.

Favourite Section
I really enjoyed the Tingle trees, the coast section, and the day out of Denmark over Mt Hallowell (sorry about spelling if it isn't correct).

Highlight of your trip
Gosh, so many. The people, the huts, the views, the animals, the overall experience...and completing it with a smile and no real injuries. :)
