Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- It was great to have had the time to prepare and dehydrate most of my meals. My bit of luxury was carrying a small amount of perishables such as snow peas, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, mandarins, cheese and local salami which I bought in track towns. Hydralyte was a saving grace on some days and carrying a light small thermos to have a hot miso soup, coffee or chocolate after a few hours walking was invaluable.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsI was on track for 47 days and had 7 rest days. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to complete my walk from Albany to Kalamunda and I am grateful for the support (both voluntary or otherwise) the track receives.
Your Best Equipment
A 230g small thermos, my Mont Moondance 1p tent, Gossamer Mariposa 60l pack, S2S Spark 3 sleeping bag, S2S poncho/tarp, Moab3 gtx shoes and fixomull stretch tape.
Advice for Others
Walk at your own pace. Start early in the day to allow for a decent rest at your next campsite. Enjoy the company and the solitude. Embrace the challenge and keep positive.

I don't have a favourite section. I appreciated different aspects of each section. It's all about head space in the moment.
Highlight of your trip
Pitching my tent at Torbay with a view out to sea; the experience of towing 2 canoes across the Irwin Inlet (it was hard and I wished there had been a kayak paddle available); finding quiet spots to bath near Frankland Hut and in the Murray; the outlook from the beautiful Blackwood hut; pitching my tent and then having dinner at the Mumby pub; basking in the sun at Mt Wells enjoying some solitude; and sunset and sunrise from my tent site at Waalegh.
