Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- The towns seem to be improving their offerings of hiker foods. I prepared home made meals mostly, but had some Feed the Hike and Strive as well. I resupplied lunches and extras on the way through. My partner was resupply person up to DRV then he dropped off boxes at Visitor Centres before joining me to walk at DRV. Excellent , friendly, helpful service provided by Visitor Centres Peaceful Bay was the only place that didn't have many supplies even for lunches.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsA thoroughly enjoyable walk through a wide variety of landscapes on well -maintained and well signed posted tracks. The shelters, water tanks and toilets made it a comfortable experience.
Your Best Equipment
All my gear worked well because I had gradually updated before the trip. Must mention the campsite toilets! The best, with the provision of the dunny brush and detergent meaning they were mostly sweet smelling!
Your Worst Equipment
Didn't have any.
Advice for Others
Plan the basics well but don't worry about the small stuff because you can work it out on the way. Relax, every last minor detail about the track doesn't need to be known and planned for beforehand.
