Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- Got it pretty right, using mostly commercially available dehydrated foods. Cannot beat a strong cup of tea at the end of a day! Will probably do it a slightly differently on my next hike.
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsMixed emotions after the end to end. A combination of relief, sense of achievement and a small desire to return! Like many others, I gained plenty of fitness and a good awareness of myself again. Met some absolute legends on trail and in huts.
Your Best Equipment
Phone. It took care of my music, navigation, messaging with the InReach and lots of things. Never let me down.
Your Worst Equipment
Boots. Just ended up with some challenging pain to manage.
Advice for Others
I can't stress this enough. Hike your OWN hike. Different goals and abilities exist across the hiker cohort. You do do. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You got this.
Trip Details
How you completed the Bibbulmun Track:- All at once
- Who did you complete the Track with? Solo (primarily)
- Was undertaking your hike the PRIMARY/MAIN purpose of your TRAVEL from where you currently live? No
Your Experience
Too many to choose from! Immediate thoughts would be reaching the ocean for the first time, or the views along the cliffs near West Cape Howe and Torbay. Just breathtaking.
Highlight of your trip
Ross, Kaveman (Jon) arriving into Yabberup with some goods from the Mumby pub to share. Legends - we partied a bit. Some really inspiring discussions with those that have already completed the track previously. And the ice cold beers that greeted me in track towns. :)
