Track Towns and Supplies
- Did you have any issues finding food/supplies? Yes
- 52 days I ate porridge with powdered milk for breakfast. I had wraps with tasty cheese, cherry tomato, capsicum, carrot and avo for lunches. Soooo good having fresh food! I dehydrated all my own meals for dinners I followed recipes from Feed the Hike and made some of my own. Spag Bog, Shepard's Pie, Chilli, Soups and Curry. For snacks I had proteins bars, trail mix, hot chocolates, tiny teddys and some times so chocolate for a treat. oh and cant forget Peanut Butter!!
Your Story or Advice for Others
General CommentsThankyou to all the Track Volunteers you all do such an amazing job of keeping the track and shelters it such great condition. Also Thankyou to all the visitor centers who hold all the food drops for hikers and go above and beyond when you get into towns!
Your Best Equipment
Hard one because everything served an important purpose but maybe Id have to say my sleeping mat (Klymit insulated static v) it is just so comfy or my tent (Mont moondance 1P) it kept me toasty at night and protected from the mice hahaha!
Your Worst Equipment
I love my Trangia but it was a bit bulky for when I was on my own. or my tent pegs.... I never actually used them
Advice for Others
- Check out all the look outs (even if you are tired, they are all worth it) - Eat desserts (treat yourself) - Get up early, watch the sunrise... makes for a great start of the day. - Get the fires going, they keep you warm, dry your clothes and its great to sit around and share stories with everyone. - Keep going... you will go on a rollercoaster of emotions but I promise its worth it making it all the way.
