Today’s 15km return walk takes us from the base of Mt Cooke along some old forestry tracks to the Nerang Campsite.

Mt Cooke and Nerang Campsites were destroyed by a bushfire in 2003. It was started by lightning and the effects were devastating.

Mt Cooke is still recovering and suffered the effects of another fire in September 2015.

We have lunch at the Nerang Campsite built in a new location in 2004.

The best part of booking an event with us is that all profits go back to the maintenance of the Bibbulmun Track – you should be proud!

Included perks:

Kaya. I walked my first two sections of the ‘old’ Bibbulmun Track in 1976, and since then have done many multi day hikes here and overseas, including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and walking the Kokoda Track. Having walked the Bibbulmun Track end-to-end, I’m aware of how fortunate we are to have a world class walk trail in our backyard and am looking forward to sharing my passion for hiking, nature, and connection to this amazing land.

Hi Everyone…I have a deep love and respect for nature and all places wild and a keen interest in our native plants. I’ve almost completed my sectional E2E…and savoured every moment of this amazing track and the wonderful community of people it brings together. Some of my other adventures have included the Overland Track in Tassie, the Annapurna and Everest Regions of Nepal, the Carr Boyd Ranges in the Kimberley…and a ‘once in a lifetime’ sail to Antarctica on a 100 year old Dutch Tall ship. I’m excited about being a Guide with the Foundation and sharing my enthusiasm with you all…hope to see you out there! 😊
