This seminar is a fantastic introduction to the Bibbulmun Track. Even if you already know only a little bit about it, join in, as you will still get something out of this seminar.
It is presented by Steve Sertis, the Events Manager and Lead Guide for the Bibbulmun Track Foundation. He is passionate about the Bibbulmun Track and has completed nine End-to-End journeys, taken thousands of children and adults on Bibbulmun Track events and has been a Track maintenance volunteer since 1997. More recently he led the 25th Anniversary End-to-End finishing in Albany on September 13th, 2023.
Steve has a wealth of bushwalking experience and a profound knowledge of the Bibbulmun Track. Nobody knows the Bibbulmun Track quite like Steve!
The best part of booking an event with us is that all profits go back to the maintenance of the Bibbulmun Track - you should be proud!
The seminar covers:
- History of the Track.
- Preparing for your day walk, overnight walk or End-to-End journey.
- Walking with kids & in groups.
- Maps & guidebooks.
- Appropriate equipment & food.
- The Track and facilities.
- Safety and environmental impact.
- What the Bibbulmun Track Foundation does and how you can get involved.
There will also be plenty of time for questions.
Steve is a great teacher and made sure we were keeping up. He makes me laugh and did not make me feel silly if I didn't understand straight away - Jane

- Your Event Guide/s:
Hi folks. I have been with the Foundation since 1997, when I first joined as a member and maintenance volunteer. I wanted to get involved in the 'new' Track after getting terribly lost on the 'old' Bibbulmun Track. From there I began leading walks and then came on staff in the office in 1999 as Events Manager and Lead Guide. I love walking and have done a few end-to-ends. I really get a kick out of sharing this passion with everyone. I am still a volunteer and look after Nerang Campsite. Come and join me on this event!
