A three-day walk through fabulous wandoo forest with outstanding views from the top of Mt Cooke.

We begin our trek from near Gringer Creek campsite and head north through the very open flats which is typical of a wandoo forest.

There is only some undulation on the first day and although it is longest day, it is still relatively easy. We cross the Serpentine River and then camp near a stream which is part of the Canning River headwaters.

We then leave the wandoo forest and ascend the rocky southern slopes of Mt Cooke with sensational views to the south, east and west. The walk ends after traversing Sullivan Rock where we then head home around noon, refreshed and ready to tackle the short working week.

With the first day being 17km, the second 13km and the last about 7km, this 3-day trek is an excellent way to spend the WA Day long-weekend. A great event for sectional End-to-enders trying to fill in the blanks.

Includes comprehensive planning night, trip preparation manual, map, experienced guides and equipment hire. Food not included. We have organised return transport for from Murdoch Park’n’Ride rail terminal.

Early bird prices finish in April or when all taken.

Hi! I’ve been walking the Track since the late 90’s, and like many, started slowly along the big hill curve of learning. A warning: the Bib is addictive. To me, being in the bush is a form of meditation. The whole Track is my favourite section but I must admit to being very fond of sitting on top of Mount Cooke, watching the eagles circle the skinks, and just soaking it all in. I enjoy sharing my love of the Track with novice walkers so hope to see you out there soon.

During the week a mild mannered public servant who will take any opportunity to get out on the Track, it’s a far better existence than my previous life sent deep under the Worlds Oceans - the scenery not great!! I have been walking the Track now for 15 years and have completed a sectional end to end a few years ago I also am a maintenance volunteer for the Mt Cuthbert and Mt Vincent sections.

Hi, Karen here. I have always had a love of walking in the bush, particularly looking at wildflowers, but have only in recent years discovered the Bibbulmun Track. As many have told me, it is addictive and I am now passing on my new found passion by volunteering as a guide. I haven’t walked the entire track yet but my favourite so far is around the Canning River where it amazes me how much the vegetation and soil can change in so short a time. Hope to see you out there soon!
