On today’s walk we start at North Bannister and walk 8km to the Serpentine River via the Gringer Creek campsite with a trained volunteer guide.
After lunch by the head waters of the river (which is very small and probably will not have any water in it) we walk back 8km to our cars. We walk through a fabulous relatively flat section with plenty of Wandoo forest.
There is a bush toilet at Gringer Creek campsite but no facilities at the lunch stop. The North Bannister Road House (named Threeways) has toilets (available if you make a purchase), fuel and basic refreshments.

I was introduced to the Bibbulmun Track in 2009 by a friend who is the maintenance volunteer for Hewett’s Hill Campsite. I took part in the Bibbulmun Team Challenge in 2009 and I was hooked! I signed up as a volunteer to experience it to the fullest and to help others enjoy this wonderful asset. I grew up in the country and have always loved the bush so I reconnected in a big way. I completed my end to end in early 2012 .In December 2012 I became the maintenance volunteer for West Cape Howe Campsite. Experiencing the Track and meeting other hikers gives me such a buzz. I hope to continue as long as I can and share it with others.
