Are you a first timer or do you just occasionally dabble in bushwalking?

This is a great way to learn about what the Track has to offer you. The walk (approx. 12km with some hills) takes you through mixed jarrah forest with views over the Mundaring Weir to a Bibbulmun Track campsite.

Your guides will be on hand to talk to you about walking the Bibbulmun Track and share with you their personal experiences. We finish near the walkers’ favourite local haunt, the Mundaring Weir Hotel.

An all-round fun day and great introduction.

If the group has time and everyone is of sufficient fitness overall, the walk may be extended as an option to Mann’s Gully (an extra 4km).

An excellent event. Loved the experience and will definitely be doing more hikes and camps as the Bibbulmun Track is a great place for unwinding and enjoying the outdoors. Nicole – event participant

Hi! I have been interested in the bush since an early age and have walked small sections of the Track since its inception. Early years were spent taking family and Scout Groups on weekends camping and bush walking. I maintain a section south of Collie and walking the Track has given me a great deal of enjoyment. I was part of the 10th Anniversary Walk when I completed my first end-to-end. Since this time I have spent many hours, volunteering in the office and leading walks to ensure others know and enjoy the Bibbulmun Track as I do. My favourite is to catch a bus and spend my friendship with the bush for some days and slowly come back, to where it may take me!

Just call me Barb! I am originally from Switzerland. I moved for good to Australia at the end of 2013. Why? The Bibbulmun Track called me back! I walked this fabulous hiking track end2end solo in autumn 2010 in regard to a review and preview of life. In Switzerland I used to be a lecturer for physical education at the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport and here in Perth I am doing a PhD in physical education science. Physical activities have always been part of my life and I like to infect others with my passion for being physically active as part of the divine nature. I look forward to walking with you!

I was introduced to the Bibbulmun Track in 2009 by a friend who is the maintenance volunteer for Hewett’s Hill Campsite. I took part in the Bibbulmun Team Challenge in 2009 and I was hooked! I signed up as a volunteer to experience it to the fullest and to help others enjoy this wonderful asset. I grew up in the country and have always loved the bush so I reconnected in a big way. I completed my end to end in early 2012 .In December 2012 I became the maintenance volunteer for West Cape Howe Campsite. Experiencing the Track and meeting other hikers gives me such a buzz. I hope to continue as long as I can and share it with others.
