General Comments

Still can’t quite believe we did it! With no overnight hiking experience and in our late sixties, we just started putting one foot in front of the other, and made getting to shelter our daily goal. It was never easy, with each day bringing new challenges, new pain but also new resolve to get this done.

Food/Supplies Comments

We dehydrated our own food and posted to visitor centres but we could have (and should have) just resupplied in, and supported the track towns. In the long stretch from Kalamunda to Dwellingup we had family visit us twice with resupply.

Favourite Section

Hard to single out

Highlights

Arriving in Albany! Other than that the campsites where we could have fires so we could dry out our boots and clothes.

Personal Reactions

So proud and happy to achieve a challenge so far out of my comfort zone in the worst weather imaginable.

Wildlife

Thankfully not one snake! Saw lots of wildlife. A highlight was a Quenda visiting us at Torbay campsite.

Your Best Equipment

Our Z packed duo quilt and Big Agnes double insulated mat. Can’t imagine how we could have survived a winter E2E without being able to get warm at night.

Your Worst Equipment

Every thing worked pretty well

Advice for Others

Just do it so you can look back on life saying “I can’t believe I did that” instead of “if only I had”
