General Comments
My friend Alice Stubber has written a piece about our wonderful time spent on the track over 5 years. We were the SMIK girls.
Thank you so much to all the volunteers who look after the track I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the track and have repeated many sections. One example was when we walked from Mandalay Beach to Mt Clare on the 8th March 2013 it was hot and not pleasant. I swore I could come back in spring when everything was in flower and enjoy the walk. I did go back. I walked in early 2016 from west of Mt Chance to Walpole camping at the huts, carrying the big backpack and had just the best time. The flowers were amazing and I saw the Babe in the Cradle Orchid flowering on the edge of the track. What a reward.
My most memorable experience was our walk into Dwellingup.
The wettest day ever. We laughed the whole way – no wind but a drenching. I don’t think there was one part of us that was dry.
Memories to last a lifetime.

Highlights
Glistening sundews in the morning and seeing my first babe-in-the-cradle orchid.

What a beautiful part of the world we live in.
Such an amazing place to enjoy nature and all it has to offer.
Wildlife
Seeing my first echidna in the wild south of Dwellingup. All I could hear was this shuffling noise and then in the bush appears a beautiful echidna.
Waking up to a glorious sunrise and the calls of Red Tail Black Cockatoos at Possum Springs.

My trusty blue floppy wide brimmed hat.
Advice for Others
Take time to enjoy the journey. The smallest things can captivate and make such a difference.
