General Comments
The Bibbulmun is an excellent long-distance walk with great facilities each day - and for free!
Food/Supplies Comments
I developed a good food list in the end, but it took me a number of years before I found what I liked - ultimately keep it simple.
Favourite Section
I really liked Walpole to Denmark, with its variety, but Balingup to Northcliffe, I would happily do again.
Highlights
The huts! but also the quiet and green forests, the southern ocean, and the red and black galahs heralding your passing.
Personal Reactions
The track is a fantastic place to really come to peace and gives you time to reflect on lots of things - there’s plenty of time.
Wildlife
Lots of Birds, almost no kangaroos - except for one I woke up early in the morning near Dwellingup, it frightened both of us and it proceeded to tumble down the hill! We were both OK. A couple of close encounters with snakes on the south coast I dream about occasionally.
Your Best Equipment
My best equipment was everything I finished with - I had time to develop and change things over the years; very different from what I started with. We all learn!
Your Worst Equipment
A lot of things I started with. A tent that was too heavy, a pack that was too heavy, and generally too much stuff. It’s surprising how little you need once you decide what is important.
Advice for Others
I started with just 1 night, as a trial, got hooked, and did the rest eventually - so could you.
