General Comments
I never tire of the track. It is a privilege to have such an amazing free resource on my doorstep, and I am indebted to the Bibbulmun Track Foundation and their volunteers who maintain the track and campsites for everyone’s enjoyment.
Food/Supplies Comments
After two E2E - still experimenting! Commercial dehydrated food just makes me gag now.
Favourite Section
Any section that mentions ‘form’ or ‘formation’ brings great joy….ie where the track follows an old rail line that hugs the contours of the hills. Love the elevated jarrah woodlands between Collie and Perth.
Highlights
Finding orchids, developing the ‘mushroom selfie’ with my hiking buddies, arriving at any shelter and having a coffee.
Personal Reactions
Love the excitement of preparing and getting on track. The track offers long periods of solitude to reflect and rebalance the mind, or the option of just walking and talking for hours and scaring away any wildlife.
Your Best Equipment
Trailling the Z-Packs Free Duo Cuben fibre/Dyneema tent (so far so good - didn’t blow away in the windy storm last week), Enlightened Equipment Revelation quilt, Luci light, HMG pack still going strong after 5 years, Pacer poles, Pro-Tick Remedy tick remover
Your Worst Equipment
The rigid plastic base of my Jetboil Minimo keeps cracking. Annoying.
Advice for Others
Keep the pack weight down and look after your feet. Take your time and enjoy every moment.
