General Comments
Was one of those COVID19 trekkers. My once in a life time travel plans were dashed by the Great Flu that swept the world. My friend suggested doing the Bib instead. Had nothing else to do so thought why not. Did not think I would enjoy doing something like this. Was dead wrong. Loved it!!
Food/Supplies Comments
Used only off the self dry/dehydrated goods and resupplied in track towns along the way
Favourite Section
Everything between Ballingup and Pemberton
Highlights
Wildlife, diverse nature and all the great people you meet along the way.
Personal Reactions
The trail and facilities along the way were top end. A credit to the many Bib track volunteers. Did not know anything like this excited. Also, loved the track towns along the way. Got stuck a few extra days then planned.
Wildlife
Lots of Kangaroos, birds favourites being the Black Cockatoos, Kookaburras and Rosellas, snakes Brown and Tiger, Papa Emu and three chicks, 2 Echidnas and a few lizards.
Your Best Equipment
Everything that was not the worst equipment.
Your Worst Equipment
Water filter failed to work properly after a few days never found any other system that really worked to my satisfaction. Sleeping bag was too hot.
Advice for Others
Was a cocky male and thought I was good with directions/maps, was wrong, got massively lost in the first few days. Installed the Guthook app. Never had a problem again. Did this on a whim. Should have gone to a Bib track info session which would have made the first section go a little smoother. Thanks to the valuable advice of many experienced trekkers in the first couple of days I was able to overcome my planning oversights.
