General Comments

It was my first long distance trail in Australia and I really enjoyed it.  It has been challenging, I did a lot of thinking, but I also had a lot of fun and discovered amazing places and people.

Food/Supplies Comments

Very easy to resupply on the trail for food, gas canisters or metho.

Favourite Section

Northcliffe to Walpole, the flood plains and the beginning of the coastline.

Highlights

There was a lot - the majestic trees and diverse landscapes, the wildflowers; crossing the inlets; the wildlife; the ocean; the history of the trail towns.  But most of all: the people.  I was very lucky to meet a lots of amazing people when I was told this journey would be solitary. Especially I met my trail (track) family and stuck with them until the end which made this trip very special.

Personal Reactions

The vollies do an amazing job.  The track is very well maintained.  A few places are a bit overgrown and the marking are not perfect, but overall it is very good.

Wildlife

I saw many kangaroos, emus, one echidna, too many snakes, two monitors and so many birds and insects!

Your Best Equipment

Zpack duplex tent (even if I don’t think you need a very good tent for this track).

Your Worst Equipment

Old Katadyn water filter
