General Comments

Such a wonderful walk to experience the changing habitats and land forms of WA. Heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and DBCA staff who maintain the track and its facilities for all to share & enjoy.

Food/Supplies Comments

I dehydrated & portioned all my own meals and posted them out to the various YHA or Visitor Centres. A lot of work but well worth it if you have the time! Supplemented food in track towns with protein/energy bars or extra Back Country meals (could soon easily devour a 2-person packet!)when needed once the hiking hunger set in about the 4 week mark! Highlights were my dehydrated hummus and spicy kangaroo biltong.

Favourite Section

I really loved the diverse landscapes and scenery of Section 8 Walpole to Denmark, the beautiful Tingle trees, amazing coastal scenery and impressive entry to Denmark through the granite wonderland of Mt Hallowell.

Highlights

Pingerup Plains, Monadnocks, Tingle trees, groovy drosera and the diversity of gorgeous wildflowers.

Personal Reactions

I feel I have really connected with WA after walking the Bibb -it offers such an intimate experience of WA’s diverse natural history.
I really enjoyed the company, comradery and hearing the stories of other walkers along the track.

Wildlife

Enjoyed the cheery company of grey fantails most days, flitting in front of me along the track.
Pleasantly surprised by flocks of Baudin’s Black-Cockatoos feeding in the dunes along beaches in S8. Great glimpses of some very impressive tiger snakes and dugites.

Your Best Equipment

My Scarpa hiking boots!
(also tried a Sea2Summit blow up micro pillow for the first time and it definitely endeared itself to me!)
