General Comments
Loved the track. The shelters were amazing. People we met along the way were amazing. The towns we stayed in along the track - amazing! So glad we were able to get a big chunk of time off work to be able to do the whole track as an end to end.
Food/Supplies Comments
We sent food packages which worked out great for us. Everything arrived where we posted it. Got extra snacks in each town.
Favourite Section
Walpole to Peaceful Bay - beautiful forest and awesome coast line and whales!
Highlights
Fungi, forests, whales and seals, seeing the coast for the first time. Meeting Bella the Kelpie in Pemberton (we got our own little kelpie when we finished and got home - called him Waugyl).
Personal Reactions
Realised I needed to take charge of my life and leave my job that was making me a very sad person.
Wildlife
Quokka x1, kangaroos (seem cuter than the eastern greys we have at home), whales, seals, loads of birds.
Your Best Equipment
Hiking umbrella. Umbrella was awesome - kept me dry without getting sweaty and it was quick to put up during sudden showers. Given it rained a lot (we walked June and July) it was invaluable.
Your Worst Equipment
I’ve done a lot of hiking and think I’ve got my equipment sorted. There wasn’t anything I took that I didn’t use or that performed poorly.
Advice for Others
Go for it! It’s an amazing experience.
